Overview

Sage is an online coaching platform that transforms people's working lives by maximizing their potential and enables a variety of companies to provide their employees ongoing access to their own professional development coach. This project aims to enhance the visibility of tracking, monitoring the coaching process for the customers.

Retrospective

Working for a start-up was really a great experience for me. I love learning within a fast-paced environment and seeing how the designed product can facilitate the overall coaching experience at Sayge Inc.

Independent Thinking

As the only UX designer in the organization, there is a huge number of challenges but also great opportunities to take on. All different projects involve different user groups and require me to understand the products and company operations in a very comprehensive manner. While it will be a more coherent design experience, it is hard when I do not have ideas in mind, or I am unsure if it will be the best possible solution. Since I do not have other designers-on-team to reach out to, I need to research more and generate ideas based on new information.

Team Collaboration

It is the first time for me to work for a real organization in the industry, and I did not just work with UX department but the whole product team, including the product managers (PM), developers, and engineers. Especially the collaboration with the engineers gives me a complete sense of how the product start from design to develop. We had great conversations over functionality, features, and design flows to create the minimal viable product (MVP) and iterate later together. It is beneficial to have ideas bounce off and practice efficient communication with various departments.
